On this particular day, I woke abruptly from a deeply unsettling nightmare in which I dreamt that an intruder had entered my home and was physically mounting me and thrusting his pelvis against me. The vividness of the dream was so intense that I woke up screaming. Upon regaining my composure, I noticed something unusual: the top button of my jeans was unfastened, though the zipper remained intact. This discovery left me feeling deeply unsettled and triggered. I found myself wishing that, if harassment were to occur, it I would hope that it would revert to less invasive tactics. Anything but that.
Shortly thereafter, I noticed another concerning detail—my phone’s microphone appeared to be active, and the device was unplugged despite my routine of keeping it plugged in while I sleep. To cope with the distress caused by the nightmare and these unsettling observations, I began singing as a way to self-soothe. However, during this moment of vulnerability, I overheard Katrina Punzel down the hall shouting obscenities and engaging in what appeared to be a form of disruptive "street theater."
